A while back I got a message on Ancestry asking about Mary Sue (I have her listed as my mom’s biological mother on her DNA family tree). If you’re unfamiliar with our story, Mary Sue is my mom’s biological mother. My mom never knew her. Anyways, the message was from a classmate of Mary’s and was trying to gather information about her for their class reunion.
After an exchange of messages, she sent me these pictures of Mary – pictures from her high school yearbook.
Every picture I see of her looks so different. I wouldn’t have been able to pick these photos out and say – yes, that’s her. I’m thankful for getting to know a little more about the lady that brought my mom into this world.
Mary Sue Blackwell graduated from Central High School, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in May of 1968. Five months later, my mom was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1969, she was adopted by my Gammie and Papa and brought to Georgia.
So, check your messages – you never know what you might find. 🙂
